Once again this summer, we're offering both our fun mid-week Development League and Wellington Baseball's competitive Sunday Travel League.

DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE 

The Pirates Tuesday night Development League is all about getting kids to have fun playing baseball with their friends. Players can choose from two options depending on age and ability - 

  • ROOKIES ~ perfect for younger players (9 - 11 yrs) and anyone new to the game
  • MAJORS ~ for players (12 - 14 yrs) who are familiar with baseball and keen to play more competitively.

The Development League runs during Term 4, every Tuesday night (weather permitting!). Uniforms are provided and any new players receive a free Pirates baseball cap when they sign-up.

TRAVEL LEAGUE

The Wellington Travel League is an exciting competitive regional baseball competition. Games are played every Sunday, across the Wellington region - from Wellington Central to Levin, and Hutt City to Porirua. 

Our club enters the 13U and 16U competitions, and our teams train together every Thursday night. Age grades are based on Little League guidelines -

  • 13U LEAGUE ~ cannot turn 14 on or before 31 August 2023
  • 16U LEAGUE ~ cannot turn 17 on or before 31 August 2023

These teams are our Pirates Club representatives, so a selection process may be required if we are over-subscribed.

The Travel League begins from Sunday 30 October and runs throughout Term 4 2022 and Term 1 2023.

CALLING COACHES, UMPIRES, SCORERS


We're on the hunt for volunteer Coaches, Scorers and Umpires for our Development and Travel League teams. Your support is vital to a successful baseball season and we can connect you with official training clinics and resources from Baseball NZ.
